LM210EX explosion-proof weighing system for fine chemical production
Our company provided a complete set of intrinsically safe explosion-proof weighing solution for a fine chemical manufacturer in Jiangsu, which produces solvent-based coatings and catalytic raw materials in a Zone 1 hazardous workshop. Before the upgrade, the factory used ordinary platform scales, which failed to pass safety inspections due to the risk of sparks from internal circuit components when handling flammable alcohol and ester solvents. The customer required ATEX II 2G Ex ib IIB T4 safety level certification, stable ±0.02% full-scale accuracy, and a washable stainless steel structure for easy cleaning of daily chemical splashes.
Our engineering team has customized the LM210EX explosion-proof platform scale, equipped with the LMD1230S intrinsically safe weighing sensor, sealed junction box, and isolated explosion-proof display instrument. Each core component has undergone rigorous anti-static and spark suppression treatment to eliminate ignition hazards in vapor-filled workshops. The stainless steel weighing platform achieves an IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating, capable of resisting corrosion from acidic and alkaline cleaning agents used during shift cleaning. We have also integrated a 4-20mA signal output to connect with the factory's central DCS batching system, enabling automatic formula batching without manual recording.
After 12 months of continuous operation, the system maintained zero calibration drift despite fluctuations in workshop temperature ranging from 5°C to 38°C. The safety supervision department successfully obtained all hazardous area certifications in one go. Simultaneously, material wastage caused by inaccurate manual weighing decreased by 11.6%. Operators no longer need to frequently check safety tools before weighing, reducing daily preparation time by 30 minutes. This case demonstrates that our explosion-proof weighing series scales strictly comply with hazardous area safety standards and exhibit long-term metrological stability, making them suitable for hazardous production lines in industries such as chemistry, coatings, and pharmaceuticals.
